Instructions for Reserving Space in Library
and Computer Labs Electronically

Step 1

You should have received an email from "GSuite Admin" (Greg Rosow) that says that Google calendars have been shared with you. There are 8 of them, plus a 9th from Kristen Kemp.  You need to add each of these calendars to your account. The first one is clearly marked, the others you need to expand (look for the 3 dots and you will see the option to add the calendar).

Step 2

After the calendars have been added, you will see them listed under "other calendars" when you open the calendar app. You can shorten up the names by clicking on the down arrow next to each calendar and selecting "calendar settings." After you edit the name, make sure you hit "save."

Step 3

To book a lab or section of the library, first make sure no one else has booked the date and block you want. If the lab or space is open, choose the calendar you want and click on the down arrow after the calendar name.  A pop-up window will give you some choices, and you should choose "Create an event on this calendar."

Step 4

Name your event with the block first then your name (For example: A Lamothe). Then, choose all day event and make sure you confirm the correct date(s) has been selected. This is how you get your booking to appear at the top of the calendar, so everyone sees it.

Step 5

You do not need to fill out the location information.  It is already done for you where the name of the calendar appears in the box to the right of the word "calendar."

Step 6

Make sure you select "save," and confirm that your name appears on the shared calendar. As you probably have noticed by now, the calendars are color coded, and you can see as many or as few as you like by clicking on each calendar.  You can change the color coding to make them more distinct from each other, allowing you to tell them apart.

If you are having trouble, please visit the library for assistance. Alternatively, you may call the library at x5118 or x5047.
